Workplace culture matters now more than ever. Research has shown that employees who feel they “fit in” are more engaged, happier, and perform at a higher level than those that don’t. Because of this, potential employees are more apt to seek out an organization that values culture.
At WBN, we strive to create an atmosphere where our employees feel welcomed, appreciated, trusted, and empowered. It’s important to us that our employees actually experience that culture, so we recently asked them two questions: “What can the company improve on?” and “What do you like about working at WBN?” to gain insight.
The answers we received to the latter question provided us with a deeper understanding of the culture our employees experience. I was extremely pleased after seeing the responses we received and am excited to share them.
Our team describes our culture as
- Motivating
- Flexible
- Fun
- Collaborative
- Engaging
- Supportive
- Innovative
- Rewarding
One employee said, “I work at WBN because I can be heard, and I can be used to implement great ideas… I have come to the realization that this is the place I belong; a place where I can achieve meaningful things.”
Beyond the feeling of belonging, we know that great training and growth opportunities also contribute to an excellent culture that keeps employees happy and fulfilled.
Our employees often mention that they joined WBN because it was a remote opportunity that aligned with their goals, and they quickly realized it was an atmosphere where they could thrive. One employee said, “It’s an amazing company to be in, growing fast and innovating all the time. Also, I learn new things every day from my amazing colleagues and management team.”
Another said, “I enjoy helping others and developing people into the best they can be. I find that the culture is a big plus and a reason to make a career here. The constant guidance and support from upper management is awesome.”
We are committed to helping our employees succeed, and we’re thankful that they see (and value) that effort.
Culture starts from the top down, but it has to be manifested by the entire organization to endure. According to Gallup, “Just 23% of U.S. employees strongly agree that they can apply their organization’s values to their work every day, and only 27% strongly agree that they ‘believe in’ their organization’s values.”
Effective leaders know that employees are their company’s greatest asset. Creating a culture that their employees believe in should be a top priority. We’re fortunate that our virtual assistants work with clients who share this perspective.
WBN virtual assistant Marlon works for a printing service and said, “There are many aspects I appreciate about the company´s work culture, the first being that they make me feel like part of the team even though I work remotely. With my client, in particular, we have forged a strong working relationship. It makes me want to become the best at what I do. I don’t think I could have found a better company to work with.”
WBN virtual assistant Daphne works for a client in the insurance industry. “What I love about my company’s work culture is that they genuinely care about the people working with them,” she said. “They take tangible steps to make us feel valued and supported. They take the time and effort to get to know each one of us and truly create a warm environment for everyone to grow professionally and personally. They have my full admiration and determination to give my best.”
