At WorkBetterNow, we’re always looking for ways to strengthen the partnership between our clients and their WBN Certified Professionals™ (CPs). One area that occasionally prompts questions is Paid Time Off (PTO)—how it works, which holidays are observed, and what to expect when a CP takes time away from work.
That’s why we’ve updated our Terms of Agreement to reflect a simplified, more transparent PTO policy that benefits both clients and CPs. These changes go into effect in July 2025.
Below, you’ll find a complete breakdown of how PTO and holidays now work—what’s changed, what remains the same, and how we’re continuing to support seamless client service.
What’s Changing and Why?
Our new PTO policy replaces multiple types of time off (vacation, sick, and personal days) with a unified, easy-to-manage Paid Time Off structure. This offers:
-
Greater clarity for clients
-
More flexibility for CPs
-
Smoother operations and scheduling for everyone

What’s New | What It Means |
Unified PTO policy | No more separate vacation, sick, or personal days (this includes their local/national holidays) |
1.5 PTO days accrued per month | 18 total days per year, tracked monthly |
Carryover: up to 9 days per 6 months | Up to 9 unused PTO days roll over every 12 months (if under 18-day limit) |
Max PTO balance: 18 days | Once 18 days are accumulated, no new days will be added until some are used. |
Minimum 1-month notice for PTO | Helps ensure you and your CP can plan coverage smoothly |
What About Working Hours?
Your CP will continue to work Monday through Friday based on your mutually agreed schedule.
All working hours are confirmed in the Enrollment Confirmation or updated through mutual agreement.
What holidays does my CP have off?
Unless otherwise arranged, CPs do not work on the following U.S. holidays:
-
Memorial Day
-
Independence Day
-
Labor Day
-
Thanksgiving Day
-
Christmas Day
-
New Year’s Day
These U.S. holidays are in addition to your CP’s accrued Paid Time Off (PTO). If you and your CP agree they will work on one of these U.S. holidays, they must either:
-
Be compensated with a substitute day off, or
-
Be paid at the WBN overtime rate
How CPs Request Time Off: A Quick Overview
Your CP will email you at least 1 month in advance (except for sick days) to request time off. They'll include the dates and a brief note on how they plan to manage their responsibilities before and after.
Once you approve, they’ll submit the request to WBN.
A Talent Partner will follow up to confirm and offer support when needed—for example, in cases of extended time off or when coverage may be helpful.
❓Frequently Asked Questions
What is the new PTO policy for WBN Certified Professionals?
Beginning July 2025, WBN Certified Professionals™ (CPs) will receive 18 combined Paid Time Off (PTO) days per year, replacing the previous separate categories for vacation, sick, and personal days.
How has PTO accumulation changed?
Before: CPs were eligible for up to 17 days of time off, divided into vacation, personal, and sick days.
Now: CPs get 18 total PTO days with no categories. They can save up to 18 days, but once they reach that limit, they won’t earn more until they use some.
Does this mean CPs no longer have sick days?
Correct. Sick time is now part of the unified PTO balance—making it easier for everyone to plan and track.
Can my CP accumulate unlimited PTO?
No. PTO accrual is capped at 18 days, with up to 9 unused days allowed to roll over every 6 months.
Will my CP take time off for holidays in their home country?
CPs may or may not request time off for national holidays in their country. These requests must be approved in advance and will count toward their 18 PTO days.
What if I need coverage while my CP is away?
Do I need to take any action?
No action is required at this time. These updates go into effect in July 2025, and we’ll be proactively communicating this change to all WBN Certified Professionals™.
